Highlights
Run Warsaw is one of the sport events with great traditions. At the beginning it was organized as Run Warsaw, but for three years has adopted the Polish Language name “Biegnij Warszawo”. It’s one of the biggest Polish events. In 2009 it received the title of the best event in Warsaw.
Run Warsaw leitmotif is running through the streets of Warsaw. Distance is 10 km, which counts 10 000 participants in identical T-shirts. In 2009 the color was blue and in 2010 it was green. This year it will be white with red lettering.
Event Purpose
The most important aim of Run Warsaw is to promote running as the simplest form of activity, and also as encouragement of Warsaw inhabitants and people all over the country for active leisure.
Time and Place
This year Run Warsaw will take place on 2nd of October in Warsaw for a distance of 10 km. The route has been tested by the Polish Athletics Federation and IAAF. Time to beat the route is 2 hours; moreover run time from crossing the start- line to the finishing-line will be recorded by a special one-use-only chips integrated with the start number. Details of route, place and time off will be announced after the final determination by the organizer. All changes will be communicated by our website, newsletter and social networks.
The limit of participants
This year the participant limit has been set at 10 000 people. In the subsequent years, we plan to create the event which matches the world’s biggest events, and 50 000 people will be at the starting line.
Partners
Run Warsaw is organized through cooperation with Sport and Leisure Department, City of Warsaw. The honorary patronage is covered by Mayor of Warsaw and by Koźmiński University as a support partner. The partners of the event also are Ministry of Sport and Nike Corporation.
